Computer Randomly Rebooting

Question:
What the problem if my computer is rebooting from time to time? How can I solve it?

Answer: A computer rebooting on its own can be from several different things. It could be software related such as a virus or system file corruption. I would right click My Computer, choose properties, go to the Advanced tab and then click on Settings under Startup and Recovery. Then uncheck the box that says automatically restart. Then it may show an error rather than rebooting the computer. You can also look in the Event Viewer for information about the reboot.
It may also be a case of a failing power supply. If the power is not providing the power then it may cause the computer to shut down or reboot. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace.
A failing motherboard is also a cause of random reboots. This may be hard to diagnose without taking it to a computer shop to be looked at.
