Read Only Files Burned on CD

Question:
In My Documents there is a file that is not read only but after burning that same file to a CD it becomes read only therefore I am unable to make any corrections to it or delete it from the CD. I am unable to change the read only attribute of the file once it is burnt to the CD. Is there a solution to this? Thank You.

Answer: When you burn a file to a CD it becomes read only because you cannot change it. The only way to fix this is to either copy the file to your hard drive, change the attribute, make your changes and then burn it back to another CD or you can use a re-writeable CD where it will let you edit the files assuming you are working off of a CD burner. If you need to transfer files between computers and edit them on the spot you may want to consider a USB flash drive instead of using CDs. They will hold more data depending on the model you get and work like a portable mini hard drive.
