Press and hold the "Fn" key on the laptop keyboard; on most laptops,
it is located between the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys. Press the "F9" key
once, then release the "Fn" key. This keyboard shortcut is used to
disable or enable the touchpad software. Test the mouse touchpad to see
if the cursor responds.
