Panasonic has launched the Eluga A4 in India at a price of Rs. 12,490. The new smartphone comes with a massive battery pack of 5000mAh capacity and is available for purchase through Panasonic's authorised dealers in the country.

The larger battery of the Panasonic Eluga A4 makes it a strong competitor against the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Lenovo K8 Plus that both have 4000mAh battery packs.

Apart from the large lithium polymer battery, the Panasonic Eluga A4 has a 5.2-inch display that comes with an HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution and 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone also has a MediaTek chipset with a quad-core CPU at a clock speed of 1.25GHz. Further, there is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage along with a microSD card slot to support an additional capacity of 128GB.

The Panasonic Eluga A4 has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor along with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and Micro-USB with USB OTG support as well as dual-SIM support with VoLTE connectivity and FM radio. Panasonic has provided Android 7.0 Nougat on the new smartphone with its AI-based Arbo virtual assistant that was appeared on the Eluga I4, Eluga Ray, and Eluga Ray Max in the past. The smart assistant provides suggestions on a regular basis by monitoring usage pattern. Besides, the smartphone has a fingerprint scanner that accompanies an advanced encryption chip.

The Eluga A4 comes in Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold, and Marine Blue colour options.

"The increasing demands for 4G smartphones with a good battery at an affordable price has become a necessity today. Our new Eluga A4 which has slide screen, 5000mAh battery and FPS powers you to do a lot throughout the day," said Pankaj Rana, business head of mobility division, Panasonic India, in a press statement.

In September, Panasonic expanded its smartphone line by launching the P99, Eluga I4, Eluga Ray 700, Ray 500 and P9 models. Among those handsets, the Ray 700 had debuted with a 5000mAh battery. The smartphone also had a 5.5-inch (full-HD) display and a MediaTek MT6753 processor along with 3GB of RAM.
