EW DELHI: Edge-to-edge display is the latest trend followed by smartphone makers. Now, the smartphone market consists of various smartphones that come with a full screen display. Keeping the trend in mind, YouTube has rolled out an update, which will enhance the user experience for the smartphone users with 18:9 aspect ratio displays.

YouTube has rolled out its pinch to zoom feature for smartphones with 18:9 aspect ratio. Presently, the platform uses 16:9 aspect ratio for all its videos. Without this update, users were not able to fully utilise their large display as a black bezel always used to appear on the screen due to the 16:9 ratio. The update is available for both Android and iOS users.

Recently, YouTube introduced a bunch of changes which include a design revamp and change in the logo. The new YouTube logo consists of black text along with the red play icons. Moreover, the red colour in the logo is brighter as compared to the existing red colour.

The app now has a white background and the new logo is placed on the left corner of the screen. The navigation tab is now placed at the bottom and the new design also comes with a separate Accounts and Library tabs.

Users will now be able to slowdown or speedup the playback of any video. The feature was so far available in the desktop version only. It will be found under Settings menu.
