With more than 300 million daily active users, Instagram Stories have emerged as one of the most popular social media fads. What makes these stories amazing is that they disappear after 24 hours.
With trendy face filters, cool stickers and even GIFs, Instagram Stories give a colorful makeover to your activities.

However, there's only one thing that still irks me about Instagram. We still can't add music to Instagram Stories, nor can we post video stories longer than 15 seconds. On a few good days, this 15-seconds time limit might not be enough to express yourself. Bummer, right?

"We still can't post video stories longer than 15 seconds"

In this post, we will show you how to post Instagram Stories longer than 15-seconds on both Android and iOS.

These apps won't dramatically try to squeeze your videos to 15-seconds nor will they try to alter the Instagram limitation. Instead, these apps will split them into 10 or 15-second clips so that your stories appear in a queue. Sounds interesting? Well, let's jump right in.

1. Android: Story Cutter for Instagram

When it comes to Android, the app of the hour is Story Cutter for Instagram. It's a relatively new app which converts videos into 10-second long segments.

Similar to most of the photo-editing apps for Android, this one also works for both saved videos and live videos. Moreover, it's fast and simple to use.

Note: At the time of writing, most of the reported bugs were fixed and we didn't find any instances of videos being processed upside-down.

Step 1: Open the app and choose either one of the options — Record or Gallery. Having done that, choose the video to be processed.

Step 2: After the processing is done, you can view the video segments in story form, with the endings neatly trimmed.

So, all you need to do is upload the videos to Instagram. Once done, you'll see that the video flows as one seamless story. Nifty, right?

2. iPhone: CutStory

The iOS counterpart of the Story Cutter app goes by the name of CutStory. Similar to the above app, this too breaks videos into 15-second long segments.

The only difference is that CutStory isn't just limited to Instagram. You can also create videos for Facebook, Whatsapp or introduce a custom time-frame of your choice.

Step 1: To start, open the app and tap on the Camera roll or Camera option.

Selecting a particular video will load it into the CutStory interface.

Step 2:
Now, tap on Save and the app will start processing the video.

Note: The app throws an error if you switch to other apps while the process is on-going. So, remember not to minimize it.

Step 3:
Once done, the video-segments will be stored in the Photos, neatly broken down into 15-seconds long parts.

All you have to do is review the videos and upload the Instagram stories one by one.

Here are some of the best tips and tricks people have tried out when trying to get video clips to upload onto the platform.
